Waterton Lakes National Park.

Our last day at Waterton Lakes and the sun is shining. The Prince of Wales Hotel built in the 1920s.

Views over the lake towards The Vimy Peak

Looking south towards the USA part of the park which they call Glacier National Park.
This pathway runs for miles round the Canadian side of the lake, you can walk to the border, I think its about 6km. cross over walk a few more kilometres and catch a boat back.

Looking south through the narrows into the US.
The camping area and rv park, a really nice site and for rvs full hook ups which is a bit unusual for National Parks.
This is the man F.W.Godsal we have to thank for this place, a local rancher who started agitating to make it into a park in 1893 and only 2 years later Managed it.

These falls are where the Carthew River fall into the Upper Waterton Lake, just alongside the camping area.
Ground Squirrel, lots of these on the camping together with their holes,  which make for an interesting walk across the grass, it can be a bit of an obstacle course at times.

This mangy looking critter followed us along the road to Crooked Creek when we left the park.
Tomorrow we move on to Cardston Alberta.
