Sawmill Lake hiking trail.

Today we are off on a long hike - Sawmill Lake Trail, in the hills on the west side of Oliver.
The trail is 4km up, rising about 400 metres and then when we get there we have to come back down, you don't puff and blow coming down just gets to the old knees and legs.  Ruth will be striding out with her sticks leaving me way behind gasping and stopping every hundred metres to take photos but really just to catch my breath.
Striding out only gone a couple of hundred metres and way behind already.

Wonderful views in every direction

About 3/4 of the way up and the sky is changing, looking the other direction looks better, had a rest and a drink of water here, old cattle corral no sign of any cows.

The sky looking really bad.  The weather man said only a 10% chance of rain today-looks like thats the 10% and we are walking right into it.

At the Lake rain drops just starting to fall.

Luckily some large trees to shelter under

Really coming down now.

Lasted about 10 minutes but left this unusual light

On the way down, what wonderful countryside. Great views.

Back at the corral.

Just a short way to go to get back to the truck, one step ahead of the rain, we managed to get inside and the heavens opened.  A great walk 75 minutes up and just under an hour to get down.  Ready for lunch now.
