Alaska Highway Day 6, The Yukon.

A little rain this morning as we drove away from Liard River Lodge, after a few kilometers it cleared up  and the rest of the morning we had patchy sunshine, made for good driving conditions.

A fellow traveller plodding along by the side of the road. 15 to 20 of these Bison are killed every year on this stretch of the AlCan. I wouldn't want to hit one of these at any speed.
The truck driver was being very careful, the bison in the centre had just walked straight across the road in front of him.

It was a big heard 80 to 100, we tried to count, but not all of them co-operated, they kept wandering around

After the bison heard we stopped at an overlook, not sure whether this is Kechika or the Coal river pretty grand what ever its called.

Not sure if this photo was taken just before we passed into the Yukon, those clouds are really something. We are now in the Yukon at Watsons Lake, will stay 2 nights, shopping and laundry and things before moving on towards Whitehorse. todays journey 206km.
