Flowers, nesting boxes & other delights in Neepawa.

Exploring the town today, there are two big parks and lots of small ones, corner lots that are too small for a house have been turned into flower gardens with a bench. The first two pics are from one of these small parks, this one is called Elizabeth

Its near the railway line and I spotted this grain wagon painted to look like a VW flower power bus, heck that gives away my age, knowing all about these.

One of the creeks running through town, this is The River Bend Park.

Stoney Creek School, built in 1897, this is in the park also, moved 2km. to this position in 1964.

A row of Purple Martin bird houses

Peahen, taken at Park Lake the other large park in town.

Purple Martin having returned from a hunting trip with lunch for his little ones-a juicy dragonfly. This photo taken at the nesting box here at the camping.

This is a handsome fellow, sunbathing by the side of the creek.

I took this photo yesterday while Ruth was checking us in at the office, this nesting extravaganza is opposite the office.  The clouds you see have been quite common this summer; the sky goes dark, the wind gets up all in a few minuets, some times it rains other times not, 10 minuets later its bright sunshine again. Prairie weather!

Another shot of the creek, a nesting box on the left.

This garden I think is private? what a wonderful garden.

Small hornets - rephrase that, small nest for a big hornet, once got bitten by one of these monsters-not funny.

The last flower shot from Neepawa, this flower bed at the entrance to the swimming pool.
