Gatineau Park, Birthday breakfast and a run to the charity store.

Labour Day weekend, and like most of Ottawa we decide to take a trip into Gatineau Park, bit of a mistake, lots of cars, bikes and people, but we have three and a half weeks left in Ottawa, so will return on a weekday, when hopefully it will be a bit quieter.   Our first stop Pink Lake, a little overcast but as the day went on the weather improved.

Next stop was The Champlain Lookout , quite a view looking over The Ottawa River

This shot from the same position but looking up river and showing The Eardley Escarpment.

The trail around the Eardley Escarpment

Unusual fungi on a dead tree.

Our next stop Lac Fortune, the bush is doing its best to take back the trail

Very peaceful, took our picnic lunch here.

Trail to our last stop Lac Bourgeois

Another peaceful place, the crowds were at Kingsmere and Meech Lake, car parks full.

Sunday was Ruth's Birthday, brunch out and she ate it all.

On Saturday we made our first run to the charity shop, all the bed linens and winter clothes we didn't want to take back to France, there will be a few more of these runs I think.
