The reward you get for an early morning bird watching trip.

5:45 am, driving the 4km. to Park, trying to think when I last had the pleasure of being up and about at that ungodly hour, Ruth decided the best way to see animals is to be up early so off we go.
I think thats a pond or lake, I can just see some ducks having their early morning swim.

Lesser Scaup.

Driving along we see this Buffalo coming towards us, a bit slow at getting the camera ready, not to worry caught it in the rear view mirror, hope you like shots of buffalo bum.

Striking looking duck, female I think but not sure which species.

Now this little fella is a Northern Waterthrush, our first sighting.

Catching the early morning sun.

Wood Buffalo, lots of birds hanging around this guy, the Brown Headed Cowbird below was one of them.

Watch out for those hoofs, you guys.

Two shots of a Blue Winged Teal

Breakfast when we got back the trailor and then the heavens opened, so no more trips for today.
Ruth decides to bake some bread, some she does every 4 or 5 days
Todays bake, we ate the (hot) two slices with our 4 o clock snack (we are Brits. after all) with lashings of lovely butter and strawberry jam-yummy.

Tomorrow we are going to Wetaskiwin to look at tractors, and old cars and interesting stuff like that, should be a super day out.
