A trip to Summerland.

A trip to Summerland around 60km. up the Okanagan Valley from Oliver, along way to go to the hairdressers but Ruth likes the one there, so thats where she has to go. Get the brakes checked over and have new pads fitted on the truck at a garage I have used before, a good coffee shop called The Beanery, some where for me to hangout while she's in the salon and lunch in a really good Japanese Sushi place.  All in all a good day out.
These two photos taken from the same spot, a picnic place just before you get to Summerland, the first one looking back down Okanagan Lake towards Penticton and Oliver, the second looking the other way towards Summerland.

There are quite a few murals in Summerland, The Fur Brigade is the most impressive.

Four photos to get it all in.

This is the local Horseshoe Tossing Club.

The Anglican Church, that really is something different to stained glass.

This is the garage that fixed the trucks brakes.

The town laundry.
Summerland is a really interesting small town.  Look forward to our next visit.

  1. Hey Colin, I'm really enjoying your blog! Just managed to stumble across it while searching on google. Summerland is my hometown--you're making me homesick now!
