Clinton to Summerland, BC

A longer drive than we planned, we hoped to stay at Vernon, but the traffic was something else, trying to get to the campgrounds along 97 was just imposable, I suppose after the last couple of months up north we need to get our minds round busy roads again, plus in this part of BC the other drivers show no mercy. We wondered at the road signs telling you not to pass snow ploughs on the right, I'm thinking who would try to do such a crazy thing as that? well after today I now know. To make it more scary there was a cloudburst in Vernon this afternoon, you couldn't see a thing, maybe 2 to 3 meters, made no difference to the local drivers, they just carried on.

After leaving Clinton the countryside changed and we were driving through this semi desert type scenery, looks more like Arizona without the cactus.

Our picnic stop, Monti
Lake just after turning of highway 1 back on the 97 to the Okanagan.

Peach Orchard Beach, Summerland.

Looking across the lake from Summerland to the eastern shore.

Looking south from the boat launch in the park.
Today was going to be spent walking a lakeside trail and then a drive up Giants Head mountain, but plans are made to change. For the last couple of days I've had a wobbly tooth, no pain, hoping it would go away, no such luck this morning work up with tooth ache, so off to visit the dentist, well search one out to begin with, sure to be one in Summerland.
