Rain-Sun-Birds

Yesterday we had some rain, lots of rain, it started around 3pm and went on till 5in the morning, it was very welcome, things were getting very dry and dusty here.  This airship flew past as we were walking out of the park.
After breakfast we decided to go for a walk in the desert behind us, its been well over a week since we last walked up there, it will be interesting to see the difference, spring is well advanced now the trees are starting to show their leaves.

The rain water must have come down this wash with some force yesterday.
These washes make for good walking.

Our first interesting bird, a Pyrrhuloxia our first sighting, native to Mexico, south eastern Arizona, southern New Mexico and southern Texas.
Two shots of Lark Sparrows, again our first sighting.

this one we have seen before, The House Finch, male above female below

Eurasian Collard Dove
This chap hiding in the grass, if I keep still they might not see me!
On our way back to the Park, looking east across The San Pedro Valley towards The Dragoon Mountains.

These Lesser Goldfinch enjoying our neighbour's feeder.

House Sparrow.
A lot of new birds this last week, I wonder what the next week will bring.
