Walking some of the trails in and around Ottawa

This week has been very relaxing after all the hustle and bustle of the previous couple of weeks, sorting through all the stuff you accumulate, only a couple more charity shop runs which can wait until next week. Living in a 29ft. trailer does not stop you hanging onto things that might come in handy at a later date.

Monday we went on a walk alongside the Ottawa River, we did this walk a few times in May of last year, good to see it at a different time of year.

The cycle/pathway, for lots of the way the walking path is separate from the cycle track, but in parts they merge, walkers beware, the cyclist think they own this path and show no mercy to walkers.

Tuesday we went back to Andrew Haydon Park and this time, walked east to Britannia Beach. Friday night of last week we had a big storm, which brought a lot of trees down. Most of the fallen trees looked as if they had previous damage, just waiting for strong wind to finish them off.  Always sad when a big tree comes down.

Wednesday saw us back in Lanark County visiting The Mill of Kintail

Wandering through the forest, this was a very relaxing, peaceful place, with lots of trails. Spent about two hours meandering through the trees and meadows.

We had a late picnic lunch at a little park in Almonte, I think this is the last falls before the Mississippi moves on towards Arnprior and the Ottawa River.  Just below the falls, this fella watching the water flow by
