What a difference a day makes.

I think the heading should have been what a difference the sun makes. We woke up to blue skies and sunshine this morning and after a late breakfast or early brunch, a good old English fryup it is Sunday after all, we set off to explore the valleys around Summerland.

Heading west from Summerland.

Looking back towards Giants Head Mountain, the cliff just below the summit is the giants profile, you've got to look closely.

We spent a couple of hours exploring the valleys and the headed for The Ornamental Gardens which are at the south end of Summerland.

This is Giants Head again but looking at it from the south.

The grounds are lovely on a hot and sunny day, what a change from the last two days.

The Kettle Valley Railway Bridge over Trout Creek, over 200ft. high and 600ft. long.

This engine will be 101 years old next month, still going strong.

Intrepid explorer, reading the little sign telling you what tree I am, Magnolia soulangeana.

We finished the day by visiting the bird sanctuary, It was a private garden left to the community.
Nice stream,  no birds.

Huge tree, we think a type of willow, never seen one as big as this.

As I write this there are only four campers on sight, the campground closes this week. Tomorrow Ruth has a hair appointment and the beast is having a service, after that we move on to Oliver, just north of the US border.
