Barkerville, British Columbia.

Well here we are in Barkerville, an old mining village in the Cariboo region of BC. What makes this place so different from all the other pioneer villages in Canada (I think) is its a village standing where its always been, they haven't moved the houses from somewhere else, every thing is as it was, and its amazing.
This hill is a few klm. from Barkerville. The road itself is worth the trip, Barkerville is the reward for making the trip.

Main Street Barkerville.

Stage Coach, you can take a trip up and down the main st. exciting for some I suppose.

This is the village hall in the Chinatown part of the village "Chee Kung Tong"

Main St. again the impressive building is the masonic hall.

Great looking sleigh.

Grizzly bear skin, looks great.

The village school.    The modern looking shed is a fire station, they are dotted all around the village.

The Church, St. Saviour's

And inside the Church.

Old log cabin
 More cabins.
The last inhabitant died in 1979, every thing is as it was, the cabins are how the miners left them, the houses the same, is as if after the people who lived there when they left or died just closed the door, leaving everything behind. A gem of a place, perfectly preserved, the only problem,
its at the end of a road 81klm. long maybe thats why its still there, to far from anywhere.
