Kirkby Lonsdale

Here we are in Kirkby Lonsdale, my home before moving to France.  The view above is called Ruskins View and is a famous English country view,  it was painted by Turner.  John Ruskin an art critic of the time called it "The fairest view in the whole of England" and there after was known as Ruskins View.
St.Mary's Church built in the 12th. century
This was supposed to be the last photo on the post, but has appeared in the middle and as I'm doing this on my iPad and I'm not sure how to move it, it will have to stay here. Our lunch in the bakery, BLT and salad.
Back to St. Mary's, this is the original 12th. century door, not used anymore, there is a new door round the corner, added I think in Victorian times.
The Rectory, this is Georgian.
One of the reasons for our visit, as well as visiting family, was to check out some work done on this building, we have some damp inside which ment some roof work and repointing of all the stonework along the parapet, all is good now, paid the builder and enjoyed a happy hour in one of the locals talking about Kirkby and catching up with all the gossip.
