Englishman River Falls.

Saturday was another foggy day and the sun never broke through but set off anyway to look at some more waterfalls on The Englishman River, near Parksville.
There is an upper and lower falls, the upper as the river begins its drop down to the sea, a series of rapids and then the final drop before the river enters the inside passage between Vancouver Island and the mainland Of British Columbia.
We began at the upper falls and the walked down to the lower. The river begins its descent here.

Quite something as it crashes down through this cleft in the rocks.

The river has cut quite a route for its self through the rocks.

The trail leading gently down to the lower falls, a lot easier walk than Friday at Qualicum Falls.

A few pics. taken on the walk, mostly on the ground, decided I'd spent enough time looking up.

I find the floor of the rain forest very interesting.
The last drop, normally the water falls over the front of that rock but with the low rainfall this year its falling behind, I suppose we will have to come back in the spring when its in full flood.
We are now in Campbell River, another foggy day though the sun broke through late afternoon, just time to take a pic.

Taken from the RV Park looking across Discovery Passage towards Quadra Island and the mountains of British Columbia. The fog is still sitting on the water on the east side of the island and the mainland.
