Woodstock to Kingston

We left Woodstock on Friday morning and arrived here in Kingston Monday afternoon, with stops in Caladon, Kleinburg and Rice Lake on the way.  Photo above is of the lake at Leisure Time RV Park at Caladon, nice campground friendly people and lousy wifi, which has been the storey since we moved into the highest populated part of Canada. We had better wifi in The Yukon, how can that be I wonder.

Saturday morning we set of for Kleinburgh, home of The McMichael Gallery of Canadian Art, what a wonderfull museum and is Kleinburgh the poshest town in Canada? Thought Oak Bay on Vancouver Island was posh but Kleinburgh betters it I think, we didn't dare look at the house prices in the real estate offices in town. This piece of rock just outside the main doors I thought was quite impressive.

For all non Canadian readers this is a painting by Lawren Harris one of the famous Group of Seven painters, titled "Sentinels" painted in 1926.

Sunday evening found us at Rice Lake, the wifi here was $5. a day and didn't work, so no post that day.

We have wifi here, not at the site but in the little shop. Tomorrow morning will post, I hope.

Tuesday evening and today we visited Fort Henry, here in Kingston, more details of this visit on the next post.  I tried twice to publish this post today, but the wifi here wouldn't let me do it. Tomorrow we will be back in Ottawa, maybe we will have better luck with wifi there.

Stratford, Ontario.

I'm afraid we never got into Woodstock to take some photos of all the old buildings, well we did get into town but the weather has been pretty bad cloudy and rain not much good for taking photos.yesterday the weather was a bit better so off we went to Stratford for a visit.

There is a lovely walk along side of the river and this is one of the many views.

Lots going on here in Stratford during the summer, as well as all the Shakespeare stuff they have a musical thing going on as well, these guys were part of that festival, on a barge in the river giving a free lunchtime concert.

Friday we move on heading east towards Ottawa, a couple or three stops before we get there I hope.

Woodstocks cruise feast

We are back in Woodstock for a few days, there is no wifi here at the RV Park, so it's a trip to the library in town to post, it's not so bad really as it's a wonderful library the building is a real treasure, one of the Carnegie Libraries.

As we arrived in Woodstock on Sunday morning we saw all the old cars parked in the streets, so after hooking up and a quick lunch we went back downtown to do what I like doing best - looking at old motors.
