Red Rock Canyon at Waterton Lakes.

The weather not cooperating with us this morning, cloudy but no rain so off we go into the park and take what they call The Red Rock Parkway which is a (barely) 2 lane road with designer potholes, that I think is to remind you, your out in the wilds. The views are spectacular. You begin in the prairie and drive into the mountains.

The Red Rock Canyon, showing the layers of different rock. The waters of Bauerman Creek have made this canyon over the ages.

The Blakiston River

Yes this is real snow, here we are the latter part of May and having to wade through the white stuff.

We think this is a Saline Shooting Star.

Blakiston Falls.
American Dipper on a rock overlooking the falls

Blakiston River again, taken from the falls viewing platform looking downstream.

Back at the Canyon with another view of the red rocks.

 Trout Lilly.

On the Parkway heading back the main valley the mountain in the background is Sofa Mountain and Vimy Peak.
The weather changing for the better as we head back into the prairie and Crooked Creek.
